When it comes to the Forester, this is a really popular vehicle for people who like to go out and on adventures and things like that. And having a hitch back here will allow you to pull your trailers around or use those different types of accessories. Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2024 Subaru Forester and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the etrailer Class III 2" Hitch Receiver. Adding a 2" hitch receiver to your Forester is gonna allow you to haul a couple of different accessories. That's gonna allow you to use it with a bike rack. You can put a bike rack on the back, get your bikes to and from the trail. A cargo carrier, if you want to tow a small trailer, you can put a ball mount in the back. more

Adding the two inch hitch receiver to the back of your Forester is gonna allow you to do a couple different things. It's gonna allow you to haul bike racks and cargo carriers on the back, many other accessories. You can also use it to pull trailers when you pair it with a four pole wiring kit like we're gonna do today. Adding the two inch hitch receiver to the back of your Outback is gonna give you a lot of options to haul accessories, whether it be a bike rack or a cargo carrier. Maybe you wanna pull a small trailer. Now if you decide to use this to pull a trailer, you're also gonna wanna look into getting some four pole wiring, which is really nice on the Outback, it's all prepped so you, all you have to do is just plug the wiring harness in and you're ready to use it. etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2023 Subaru Legacy- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2023 Subaru Legacy. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Legacy and it's a very clean look. This bolts into the frame rails of the vehicle or at least the channeling of it. So really the structural part is all hidden behind the rear fascia, giving you a nice clean look with the only thing visible being the receiver tube opening. Now this one is gonna be a 2 inch by 2 inch, which is kind of the standard size for a lot of different accessories, which is really good 'cause you're gonna have tons of options when it comes to ball mounts, bike racks or cargo carriers. Either way, all those are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. more

You're gonna be able to put two inch bike racks in there, cargo carriers, ball mounts if you wanna pull a small trailer. If you plan on pulling a trailer, I'd highly recommend installing your four-pole wiring while you're doing your hitch, just so that you only have to tear into your vehicle one time. This hitch is gonna have a triple carbide black powder coat finish, which we have seen to prove that it's a very, very tough paint job. more

Adding the hitch receiver to the back of your Outback, it's gonna allow you to have different accessories inserted into the hitch. That is bike racks, cargo carriers. There's not a whole lot of room on the inside to haul a bike anywhere, so putting a bike rack on the back will allow you to get several bikes, not just one, towing from the trailhead and hauling a cargo carrier on the back, it's gonna allow you to get some of those bulkier items out of the inside and onto the carrier so that you can fit more people inside for those longer trips. If you're wanting to tow a small trailer with this, it'd be great for the, those two inch ball mounts with the two inch shank that is. more

Now a big reason why you want to add a hitch receiver to the back of your Outback is so that you can haul bike racks or cargo carriers, get a little bit more space outside of the vehicle. The Outback is very difficult if you're trying to fit a bike into the back of it, especially after a long day of riding. You don't wanna put a muddy bike in the back of your car, so you throw that on a bike rack. EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2023 Subaru Impreza- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look installing the Eco Hitch trailer hitch receiver on 2023 Subaru Impreza. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Impreza and the great part is it's a hidden cross tube, meaning the only thing that you're gonna see hanging outside of the vehicle is gonna be the safety chain loops and the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. Then that's something I'll point out. Some of the other options for the Impreza are only inch and a quarter and have lower weight capacities, where this one being a two inch by two inch really opens it up for a lot of different accessories. Whether you're using a bike rack, a ball mount or a cargo carrier, you're gonna have tons of options available. All of those are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. more

Right off the bat, one of the cool things about this setup is the fact that the hitch can be completely hidden whenever you're not using it. And that's because it sits behind the fascia, and because of its position, it'll allow you to take your removable panel and pop that back into place. And everything looks completely factory back here, but when you're ready to use it, remove a couple of fasteners down here, this pops out, and now you have complete access to it. more

The Crosstrek is a very versatile vehicle, but the space inside can sometimes be limited. So that's why getting bulkier items, like a cooler or some luggage, onto a cargo rack, or if you're wanting to take bikes to and from the trail, getting them outta your car if you can even fit 'em inside of your vehicle. A lot of times people don't think about, you know, they can put their bikes inside their car when they leave for the trail, but once they're done riding, you have to be very careful to not get your bike covered in mud so you don't have to stick it back inside your car. more

The one issue with them is the back of the vehicle's not very large, so you're not gonna have a whole lot of room for storage especially if you're trying to get something like a bike to and from the trail head. It's gonna be very difficult and really messy if you're coming back from the trail to slide that bike in the back of your car. more

Now the two options that we have here today is going to be the CURT Class 3 trailer hitch receiver with the two-inch hitch receiver, and the etrailer Class 3 two inch hitch receiver. The biggest difference between the two right off the bat is going to be the paint job. The etrailer hitch is going to have a black carbide finish. It's a matte black finish, so depending on what you're looking for, the CURT hitch is going to have a gloss black powder hook finish. more

Before we do that though, let's take a minute, check this out, and make sure it's gonna be right for you. There's a lot of different hitches available for the Crosstrek, and when it comes to this one, I feel like this would be ideal for those of you that already have those inch and a quarter accessories. And that's because this one has that smaller opening to accept those. If you're someone that isn't sure what they're gonna be doing just yet, or you know, you're gonna be doing towing, using a lot of different accessories and things like that, the Class 3 style hitches have the larger two-inch by two-inch opening. more

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the EcoHitch class three trailer hitch receiver on a 2018 Subaru Outback. This is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Outback, and it's a nice clean look. We have a hidden hitch essentially, so all that you're gonna see when it's installed is gonna be the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, as well as the safety chain loop. So you get all the usability of a hitch without having to see it hanging down underneath the vehicle. And being a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening really opens it up for a bunch of different accessories. This is kind of the most common size, so when it comes to bike racks, cargo carriers or ball mounts, you're gonna have tons of options available. more

As far as the hitch's weight capacities go, it's gonna have some decent numbers. Maximum gross tongue weight rating will be 525 pounds. That's gonna be the amount of weight pushing down on the hitch, so you should be able to use pretty much any size bike rack or cargo carrier that you'd want to, for example. more

When it comes to picking out a hitch that's gonna work best for you and your Forester, there's a lot of different options available out there and with this one having the smaller inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening, this one's really gonna be ideal for those of you that really only plan on using a smaller accessories like a bike rack, especially if you already own one in that size. And I say that because your options are just a little more limited as far as different types of things you can get that'll work with this particular hitch. Now that's not to say you can't tow with this or anything along those lines because you can, but if you plan on towing quite a bit or using different types or larger style accessories, there's other options out there that'll work a little bit better, particularly those two inch by two inch trailer hitches. more

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Subaru Forester- Video
Hi, John with etrailer. If you're ready to do some towing with your Subaru then check out this option. EcoHitch Class III receiver hitch that we have installed on our 2019 Subaru Forester. Now one of the things I like about the EcoHitch receiver right here is that it has a hidden cross tube. It's actually mounts behind the bumper fascia up here. The only thing that you see is the receiver portion. more

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver on the 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed, and the great part is this is a hidden cross tube, meaning that the only thing that you're gonna see is the 2" by 2" receiver tube opening. And with that size, that's gonna mean that you have plenty of options available for bike racks, cargo carriers, or even a ball mount if you plan on pulling a trailer. Now all of those accessories are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. Now this is not included with the hitch, but you can pick up a pin and clip, and even a locking version of one here at Etrailer. And that's really nice when you have your accessories loaded up, you can lock it in place, and no one's gonna walk away with it. more

Now, a hitch is gonna be a great way to do a variety of things with a vehicle, especially a Class III receiver like this one here today. It's a two inch by two inch receiver tube which is gonna be compatible with a wide range of accessories, probably the most out there. So anything from a ball mount to a bike rack or a cargo carrier, you're gonna be able to fit that in this receiver tube. more
